St Edmund’s College & Prep, Ware, is pleased to announce the achievements of its A Level students, with 85% of grades awarded at A* - C and strong performances seen across a number of varied subjects. Students studying Further Maths secured 100% of grades at A*-A grades, whilst those studying French achieved 100% at grades A* - B and in Art 50% of grades were awarded at A* - A.
The results achieved by students are all the more notable given that this year group was unable to sit their GCSE’s in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Result highlights:
85% of students received A* - C grades
58% achieved A* - B grades
28% of students were awarded grades at A* - A
University destinations:
The class of 2022/23 has been accepted into a diverse array of universities, institutions, and opportunities with 88% securing their first-choice destinations including at the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Exeter, Manchester and Warwick, and the University College London (UCL). They will pursue degrees in a range of disciplines such as Law, Engineering, Anthropology, History and Pharmacy. Students also secured degree apprenticeships with prestigious firms such as J. P. Morgan.

These results underline the determination of this cohort and the enduring commitment of our school community to supporting their growth and development. I’d like to extend my thanks to our dedicated teaching staff, whose expertise and tireless efforts have guided our students to academic success. I’d also like to acknowledge the steadfast support of parents and guardians, who have played a pivotal role in the students’ achievements. We are extremely proud to see our students take up places at some of the best university destinations in the UK. With a great set of results under their belts, we wish them all the very best for their future endeavours.”
Since the earliest days of St Edmund’s College & Prep School, which is the oldest Catholic School in England, the Sixth Form has been known as Rhetoric, with Sixth Formers known as Rhetoricians. Former alumni from the college have gone on to read a diverse range of subjects ranging from: Architecture; Law; and Medicine; to Business Studies; Fashion Design; and ICT.
