We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of Stephen Blake, previous Housemaster of Stapleton.
Stephen (Steve) Blake came to the College as an assistant Geography teacher in 1971. Between 1972 and 1975, he was Assistant Housemaster of Junior House. In 1975 Steve was appointed Housemaster of Stapleton, a newly-formed House which was needed as the school had expanded. He held this role until 1991. In 1980 he was appointed Head of Geography. Between 1993 and 1995, he was Head of the Centre for Advanced Studies (CFAS), the equivalent of Head of Rhetoric. He was instrumental in running Geography field trips to Cornwall during the 1970s and 1980s and was involved in coaching rugby and cricket.
He retired from teaching in 1995 and sadly passed away on 25 April 2021 at age 72.
May he rest in peace.
