Tuesday 31st March 2020 Dear Old Edmundians With effect from tomorrow I will be placed on voluntary Furlough leave. In these unprecedented times it is necessary to support our wonderful school in any which way we can. Therefore, by volunteering for Furlough, I hope that these small steps will hopefully guarantee that, in due course, we can all return to our roles at the College and “normal service will be resumed”. Whilst on Furlough, according to HMRC, I am unable to undertake any form of work for the College, and this will sadly include responding to any emails. I have had an overwhelming response from the community to my last emails, and this just goes to show that Edmundian spirit is as strong now, as it has ever been. I am unaware at this time how long this will be in place for, there is a minimum period of three weeks and, at present, a maximum of three months. I will be ready to return at the request of the College, which could well be within three months, but at this time, this is simply unknown. Rest assured, I will email you all on my first day back to let you know! Personally I am going to take this time to spring clean the house and take lots of exercise, but more importantly, I am going to enjoy the time that has been given to me to cherish my loved ones. It’s not often that we get an opportunity in life like this, and I intend to make the most of it! Take care and God bless everyone Avita Pro Fide!
